For any stamps that have text but are hard to place, use Google - just put in all the text you can identify, and add "stamp" if the search doesn't yield anything obvious. Doesn't always work, but surprisingly often turns up trumps. Or if you can't make pout the writing, try to describe what is shown on the stamp and use Google Images on the description, adding STAMP. Again, not infallible but often works.
After WWI the Austro-Hungarian Empire was broken up creating several new nations.
The German speaking region of Austria initially, their government had chosen to refer to their new nation as German Austria. This decision was unnerving to the Allies. The Allies feared the possibility of a German Mega State that may arise and lead to another great war in Europe. The Allies placed pressure onto the new Republic whom then later conceded by dropping German from the country's name by 1922.
Do you think the allies had anything to worry about, well by 1938 the new greater Germany now including Austria followed the next year with the beginning of WWII.
