Wadmalatz I think you post the wrong stamp and it's sideway. No elephant there. |

Liberia Scott # 62a, Issued in 1905. One of the great rarities of Liberia. Only the one sheet of 60 is known and it no longer exists. The Candian stamp dealer K. Bileski broke the sheet up and sold the numbered corner block of four and fifty-six singles back in the early 1970's. The singles sold for $500 at the time. The block sold at the Tom Lockard sale a few years ago for $4,250. It seems Bileski provided buyers with this photo of the complete sheet with each purchase. I found this one in a lot that belonged to Dr. Shievly, a long-time Liberia collector. Note the "482" indicating this was the 482nd sheet printed. It shows that actualy it is the frame that is inverted and not the "center" elephant a listed in all catalogs. ---------------------------- Just found this in ebay listing..its just a photo. Friends am not at home these days, got married on march, shifted to a new place near my wife's college, collection is left back at home with parents.. am away from stamps these days, have to join back ship for work next month and get back to collection when I get back to land in coming days. |
