So in the above case can we take it as 55c Postage rate and 20C charity, am I right, ie the customer pay 75C for stamp but can use it for 55C worth postage only.

That's right. Here's another semi-postal stamp, one I noticed the other night while sorting some German stamps.

It's not a postage stamp. I believe it is a label for Vietnam Women's Day.

Philately is really a huge source of information.. even though I have been after elephants for long time, I never knew that African elephants were so extensively used by men, of course its an official issue , pre-stamped postcard.

I searched on Google Vietnam, but couldn't come up with anything. I found a couple of interesting items, however.

Mary Ann Owens had a very large collection of elephant stamps and competed in international exhibitions, winning 3 Large Gold prizes. Her collection was sold after her death, here are a couple of auction catalogues.

This article from a Singaporean magazine was written by the curator at the Singapore Philatelic Museum, who were hosting an elephant philatelic exhibit in conjunction with Singapore's Elephant Parade 2011.

Thanks Ryan for this valuable info, I got a xerox copy of the award winning exhibit of Mrs.Owens, Her exhibit of "elephants on stamps" was the first thematic exhibit to win gold and large gold.
I am sure that this auction catalogue will have lot more materials than the exhibit, These items were sold by her, the auction was on 2000 and she died on 2005.

22 pages and I didn't see this one...

...but I don't know. There were quite a few elephants, and it's like not seeing the forest for the trees. And there were certainly a lot of trunks!
