Here is an image of another KUT stamp depicting an elephant, printed by lithogravure and issued on September 11, 1975, Scott No. 312.

8 pages of Pachyderms, who would have thought?
My hazy memory recalls a stamp with cross tusks
as a frame for the vignette.
I'll take anything connected with the behemoths,
doesn't have to feature an Elephant particularly in body.

I don't believe this stamp has been posted in this thread yet: Indian Elephant, one of a wildlife preservation set printed by photogravure, and issued by India on October 7, 1963, Scott No. 364, SG No. 474.

OK Rod, here is one that almost got by me. Kind of unusual for a smoking elephant. - jeff

Here is an image of an African elephant stamp printed by offset and issued by Guinea-Bissau in 1988, one of seven stamps in a Maps and Fauna issue, Scott No. 758. Note that the animal's genus, Loxodonta, is misspelled on this stamp!

Thanks Alejandro,
but this forum is to bring images and info
to collectors, "check a catalogue" is not useful

But your idea of help was appreciated
