He is well known for performing a public autopsy in Prague in 1600. The stamp shows his portrait and his lectures on the autopsy entitled Anatómiai Pragae published in 1601.  |

United States - Sweden Joint Issue Stamp Collecting January 23, 1986 Each country issued one booklet of four stamps to mark the international stamp exhibitions Ameripex86 and Stockholmia86. There is one common design illustrating a magnifying glass and stamps on an album page. Swedish engraver Lars Sjooblom engraved the US version of this design, while Thomas Hipschen of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing engraved the Swedish version.  |
