One stamp shows a Horezu ceramic bowl together with a traditional rug from the region of Oltenia, and the other shows an Azeri copper vessel from Lahic and a rug with local patterns.

Jan Jesenius (1566 – 1621) was a Slovak physician, politician and philosopher. He is well known for performing a public autopsy in Prague in 1600. The stamp shows his portrait and his lectures on the autopsy entitled Anatómiai Pragae published in 1601.

The Pottery Village of Filovci, near the Hungary - Slovenia border, has a unique outdoor museum and the local "cimpara#269;a" – houses covered with straw and built of wood and clay. They are known as "Lon#269;arjeva hiša" (The Potter's House) and "Hiša kulinarike" (The House of Cuisine). The village preserves the traditional craftsmanship and the art of pottery.

United States - Sweden Joint Issue

Each country issued one booklet of four stamps to mark the international stamp exhibitions Ameripex86 and Stockholmia86.
There is one common design illustrating a magnifying glass and stamps on an album page. Swedish engraver Lars Sjooblom engraved the US version of this design, while Thomas Hipschen of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing engraved the Swedish version.

The Battle of Lissa (July 20, 1866) took place in the Adriatic Sea near the Dalmatian island of Lissa. The Austrian naval fleet, under the command of Wilhelm von Tegetthoff, won a decisive victory over a numerically superior Italian force.

Charles V (1500 – 1558) was ruler of both the Spanish Empire from 1516 and the Holy Roman Empire from 1519, as well as of the Habsburg Netherlands from 1506.
The souvenir sheet reproduces a painting Charles V on horseback in Mühlberg by Italian painter Tiziano Vecelli (1548), with the background replaced by a vintage world map.

The Siege of Szigetvár or Battle of Szigeth was fought from August to September 1566, between the defending forces of the Habsburg Monarchy and the invading Ottoman army. The two stamps in the souvenir sheet shows the commanders Zrínyi Miklós (1508 - 1566) and Kanunî Sultan Süleyman (1494 - 1566).
