Lovely topic and lovely scans all. I love those small animal stamps and the expressions on their faces. The designers initial is missing because the polar bear ate it and thus is smiling with satisfaction.

London,
look at the advanced settings and change your resolution.
75 dpi is all you need for web presentation nut you need to go to 600 dpi or 800 dpi to get scans like Rod's or litho's.

An ordinary scan is 200 dpi.

At 600 dpi you will need to crop or trim the scan to remove excess and possibly reduce the image size a few times to get under the 90 kb limit or I think you use a photo hosting site so may habe no issue there.

Nice start BC, I'm looking forward in seeing the rest of them.

One thing I would like to do is to point arrows to the dates but I haven't figured out on Photoshop as to how to do it.

I did it in Paint Shop Pro X (similar to Photo Shop). There is an option to insert shapes, and I selected an arrow, colour red.

Beecee - In PSP8 you can also add arrows with the line tool. You select from line style either arrow at start or arrow at end.
I find it gives you a bit more control over direction/angles etc but you seem to have mastered using the shape method which I find difficult

Starting in the late fifties the dates were getting smaller and better hidden.
