This is the view from my window, except that something got in the way... Well, I think the window is somewhere behind that. I'm not sure which section of the wall, or even which wall, had the window. I guess I have to be able to see the window before I can see out the window... k |

I'm resurrecting an old thread to show this picture from my county.
Whiteside Mountain is located in Jackson County, NC between the small towns of Cashiers and Highlands. The photo was taken in October 2019 by WNC Aerial Imagery (drone). |

That's a stunning pic Kirk. Beautiful. Looks unspoiled by human hands.
Amazing how the trees' roots find enough earth on those rocky slopes. What type of trees are they? Maple perhaps?

Here is my house! Kirk, Southpaw, and myself are all blessed to live in beautiful Western NC. Not only is it great nature-centric living, but our local stamp club (Asheville) just hit 90 members; largest number of members since 1937. Don |

I see in Kirk's profile that he lives in Webster. Wikipedia states that the pop was 486 (2000 census) down to 386 (2010 census) Now? My kind of town.
I live in Newmarket Ontario. When we moved here in 1996 the town had 57,000 people Now the signs say 86,000 but it's probably closer to 100K.
It used to be a nice quiet town.

I would move to the Cashiers/Highlands area in a heart beat; if I could talk my wife into it (Yea, I've tried). Visited there several times and really like it. Will have to live with visiting there when we can---stuck in middle Tennessee looking out the window at my neighbor's house. |
