Here is a Canada stamp issue that I like. The 5 cent violet from the Historical Issue; Thomas D'Arcy McGee, issued June 29, 1927

Here it is in various formats:

- plate single, perf 12 (Scott 146)
- plate single, OHMS 5-hole perfin (Scott OA146)
- Imperforate pair (Scott 146a)
- Horizontal pair, imperforate vertically (Scott 146b)
- Vertical pair, imperforate horizontally (Scott 146c)

A brief explanation of Thomas D'Arcy McGee is from Wikipedia....Thomas D'Arcy Etienne Hughes McGee, PC, (April 13, 1825 – April 7, 1868) was an Irish Nationalist, Catholic spokesman, journalist, and a Father of Canadian confederation. He fought for the development of Irish and Canadian national identities that would transcend their component groups. He is, to date, the only Canadian victim of political assassination at the federal level.
