United States Centenary of the Brooklyn Bridge May 17, 1983 The Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrid cable-stayed/suspension bridge in New York City and is one of the oldest bridges of either type in the United States. Completed in 1883, it connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn by spanning the East River. It has a main span of 486.3 m and was the first steel-wire suspension bridge constructed. Since its opening, it has become an icon of New York City, and was designated a National Historic Landmark and a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.  |

Norway EUROPA Transportation - Herøybrua July 1, 1988 Herøy Bridge (Herøybrua) is a cantilever bridge that connects the islands of Gurskøya and Leinøya in the municipality of Herøy. It is part of a bridge network which connects all of the main islands of the municipality together. The bridge is 544 m long, the longest span is 170 m, and the maximum clearance to the sea is 32 m.  |

Romania Bridges - The new Bucharest Basarab Overpass June 21, 2011 The Basarab Overpass is a road overpass in the inner city of Bucharest. It is 1.9 km in length and is the widest cable stayed bridge in Europe, measuring a width of 44,5 m. The two towers that sustain the 60 cables of the bridge have a height of about 84 meters. The bridge is accessible by automobiles and also has a tram line and a station with elevator access. The tram station is covered in a round shaped plastic glass that forms a see through tunnel.  |

Spain Los Santos Bridge May 4, 2013 Los Santos Bridge is a five span structure located in the North of Spain at the border line between Galicia and Asturias. The bridge has a total length of 600 m and spans of 150 m.  |

Spain Puente de Sancho el Mayor June 20, 2013 Sancho el Mayor Bridge spans over the Ebro River in Castejón, Spain. It has a total length of 204 m, a width of 29 m and a main light span of 142 m. This suspension bridge is supported on a single pier located on the axis of the road with 35 pairs of twin cables.  |

Some great bridge stamps - thanks for scanning. Here's an Auckland bridge stamp from the 2009 NZ set of 4 - and a PC  Opened in 1959, the Auckland Harbour Bridge was one of the most significant infrastructure projects New Zealand had ever undertaken. Soaring over the waters of Waitemata Harbour, it provided a much-needed link between the North Shore and Auckland City – with long-term benefits for residents, businesses and New Zealand as a whole. Here's another New Zealand Bridge Alexandria Bridge South Island NZ - 40c stamps from the 1985 Scenic Stamp Issue which features four New Zealand bridges, two from the South Island - across the Shotover River and at Alexandra, while the other two bridges - South Rangitikei rail bridge and Twin Bridges are in the North Island.  |

Pakistan Golden Jubilee of Ayub Bridge June 15, 2012 Ayub Bridge is a railway bridge over the Indus river between Rohri and Sukkur in Pakistan. The foundation stone of this steel arch bridge was laid on 9 December 1960, and the bridge was inaugurated on 6 May 1962. The Ayub Bridge became the world's third longest railway arch span and the first railway bridge in the world to be slung on coiled wire rope suspenders.  |

Czech Republic Bridges - Cable-stayed bridge at Usti nad Labem October 20, 2010 The Mariansky Bridge crosses the River Elbe as it passes the city of Usti nad Labem. The bridge is composed of two pylons, each of them contains 15 steel cables that hold the bridge deck. It was opened in 1998.  |

Italy 120 Years of Societa Italiana per Condotte d¡¦Acqua June 28, 2000 The General Manuel Belgrano Bridge is a road bridge that joins the Argentine cities of Corrientes and Resistencia over the course of the Parana River. It was opened on May 10, 1973.  |
