I know it is hard to judge color of the scan. I placed some known colors for the reference. I believe this Cyprus stamp is #11 in Scott and GS (it has CC and crown watermark), but the only color variation listed in GS and Scott is emerald-green. The Hungarian stamp to the left is color emerald, Yugoslavian to the right is Blue-Green, German below is light Blue. Is this normal for emerald green to look like this or it is some color variety?

Thanks!

No, the emerald green is not supposed to look like that. It is most likely a color changeling. It happens with some of the used stamps of the common design type Vickies. Probably happens during the soaking process as I never see this problem with MNH Vickies. But now you know, in these changelings, green tends toward blue.

Hi Danko

Your Cyprus stamp appears to be an 'ultramarine' colour to me but then again, I am no expert.

All these color shades give me such a hard time. I'm working with two catalogs now Scott and SG and for some reason they use different color names or call the same shade differently. Now on top of that this color changeling AAAAAAAA......

Yes, that is an important point that many forget about. So if you are using a color guide for one catalog, it is not necessarily applicable for other catalogs. Certain color groups, such as purple/mauve/lilac will drive you crazy between the 2 catalogs.
