Argentina Watermarks

Hi All

For those of you who have problems trying to decipher some of the watermarks on Argentina stamps might find this url useful to them?

Since Bujutsu's thread title is appropriate I thought I might add this enquiry to it. Using Scott's watermark designations for Argentina can someone tell me which watermark number this stamp is? My first guess was wmk 86 "large sun" but then had doubts given one of the rays. I won't say which Scott design number the stamp is in case it sways your choice.

Terrific site Bujutsu, I've bookmarked it as well.

Cynical, watermark 86 would be my guess. It doesn't appear the rays are touching.
Is there a prize if we guess which stamp it is?????

James: no prize - just the shear joy that you must be feeling for having helped someone who is floundering amongst his Argentina definitives.

cynical you are not alone..we have to be most careful ..especially with the higher denominations !!

Phil: at the rate I'm going I doubt if I'm ever going to get to the higher denominations. I was sort of looking past all the generals to my 2 pesos fruit stamps thinking that it was a commemorative then James posted various colour varieties of it so now I have nothing to look forward to but tough slogging. I am even thinking of becoming a "lumper" and cataloguing my Argentine stamps by Scott design numbers (e.g., A10, A11, etc.).
