This is a magnificent Philatelic book. It is 14 1/4 x 10 3/4. This book was compiled by Sir John Wilson, who was curator of the Royal Collection from 1938-1969. I saw some illustrations from one in the '80s and finally won one in a Philatelic Book auction in 1985. I am just going to put up a few photos, as every page is unique. Tremendous descriptions and bibliography for reference. I am very lucky to have one.

As fantastic as this book is, another series of books by Robson Lowe, called the Encyclopedia of British Empire Postage Stamps, is more important for reference. Volume 5 ( actually 2 separate books, containing 6 parts) Empire in North America ~ is wonderful from posts of the American colonies, Canada and all the way to Mexico and Columbia. I would be happy to post a few pages from them also.

Seeing nice reference material like this just makes me realize how much philatelic "stuff" I would accumulate if I was rich and foolish!

The author John Wilson had a tremendous career in Philately. Imagine being in charge of
the Royal collection and being sent around the world to secure the stamps the King wanted.
I should post a photo from the book of the Royal Collection Room where all of the albums were stored. Actually my wife has taken possession of my camera for a weekend trip so I won't be
posting new stuff

Harry, I am addicted to books. All over the place! My son is as bad as I am, but he has different areas I enjoy holding books in my hand rather than reading off of a monitor.
