Just a bit of news..........if I hear correctly

Today the Argyle Dam here in Australia
is overflowing at the spillway to a depth of 7 metres!

That rate would fill EVERY dam in South Western Australia
(six times the size of england)
in 6 hours!

All that fresh water goes out to sea.

Water can play an important role in political matters, as Canada's "Boundary Waters Treaty of 1909" stamp reminds us:

Here is an image of a stamp depicting Phra Mae Thoranee, the Thai Earth Goddess, wringing water out of her hair, printed by photogravure, and issued by Thailand on May 1, 1968 to publicize the International Hydrological Decade, 1965-74, Scott No. 500. Note: According to legend, when the Buddha was threatened by the evil Mara, he tapped the ground and called upon the Earth Goddess to witness about his many merits. The Goddess emerged from the ground, wrung her long bundle of hair and drowned Mara and his army with a torrent of water from her hair.
