I checked the trains topical thread, and this stamp has already been posted.

A label on a recently recieved (2013) envelope from Japan to Canada, above an airmail etiquette label.

Does anyone know what it is for? I guessed something for customs.

I found this elsewhere:

That blue label says Japan Postal Service has already checked and confirmed

1) It's not dangerous

2). The item doesn't exceed #65509;200,000 (about $2,000 USD).

Japanese kanji are still beyond me, but katakana isn't too difficult to learn. I could read "check seal" on your label, so I googled that and found the above.

Not a postal label but an address return label from Canada on a postal item (envelope), with a nice covered bridge shown, name hidden for privacy reasons.

I've been wanting to post in this thread, but it seems most of what I have has been posted! Nevertheless... here's a scan:

Very nice collection of airmail etiquettes and post office labels.

All of those in the US should be on the lookout for new labels that will be coming out later this month (July 2013) when the new Priority Mail Express packaging changes. Although post offices are directed to use up their existing supply of labels, new ones are already printed and will be available when existing supplies are exhausted.
