Phil,

There is a tremendous language barrier when it comes to the bibliography for Argentinean stamps. Except for the notes and short books I have published on this one issue I have seen no books in English.

The situation for the Spanish reference isn't great either. The references in Spanish are very good, especially for the 19th century material, but the best ones tend to be out of print. There are lots of articles that people scan and email to each other...its somewhat chaotic.

If you can make out from the Spanish some of what you need, there are some good references. For this issue, Pettigiani just published a book. There is an English-speaking dealer who sells it. Pettigiani's book has some inconsistencies, but it is still a great reference for this issue.
