I found this while finally getting around to sorting out my Central / South American pieces. I think this is one of the most visually stunning pieces I have seen yet, the lettering jumps off the piece and it's a very sharp Orange. The scan doesn't do it justice. I'd like to find another in Mint condition as I believe I need to have 2 :)
If anyone has one, (Catalog value is only like .30˘) they would like to sell or if you see one listed in an auction, please let me know.

I must agree with you, Stallzer. The whole set is quite lovely. We called those electric poles over the train tracks "double dogs".

That's a beauty indeed,
Do you guys know that those poles still exist in some parts of the rail track?

I'm a locomotive engineer so I see them everyday :)

Best Regards,

Bob

Is that some sort of catenary system for electrification of the railroad, or just garden-variety power/telephone?

Power/telephone. Railroad engines ran fossil fuels.

_______________

Stallzer, I will keep an eye open for one.

That's more of a challenge. I have a complete set but the high value has a tear. Broke my heart when I saw it. I will post an image of the set for you. And I found a mint 1/2˘ for you too. Will post a pic of that as well. Might have some other dupes in the set.
