Does anyone know if this would have been postmarked at Waterloo Station in London, or Waterloo, near Upton. I ask only because I live right next to Upton, but in the states, and I thought that would be a cool coincidence. Nice Christmas Eve strike too. Thanks, everyone, Jeff

Hi Jeff, I'm not at all sure about this but I wonder if it's from Waterloo in Sefton near Liverpool? It looks as though it might say WATERLOO-LIVERPOOL but I'm guessing and I don't know if there was such a postmark.

You are right Nigel, a closer look and I can see the L V and part of the E. Thank you. Back into the "close but no cigar" pile.

The construction of including two place names with a hyphen makes one think TPO (Travelling Post Office), but that doesn't look like any of the TPO cancels I recall seeing...

[edit: Norvic is offering a card addressed (according to the listing) "to Liverpool, with WATERLOO LIVERPOOL squared circle FE 8 04."] The squared-circle is not pictured. Leads me to believe they are just being specific about which Waterloo.]

Hi Jeff, Which Upton did you have in mind? There are quite a few in the UK.
