Hi,

My Mum recently found an unused 10p book of stamps from 1974 and she wants to know if there are worth anything, so has anyone got an idea?

The book has 2x2p, 2x1/2p, 2x1.5p, and 2x1p stamps.

Here's some pictures.

According to the Stanley Gibbons website, I would price these stamps at about 1 pound,50 pence in mint condition. Remembering that these are the prices they would sell them to you. In reality you would get about half of this. As a book though they could be worth more to a collector.

Welcome to the forum Gizmosdad!

These are known to stamp collectors as Great Britain's "Machin head" stamps.
Thousands of types have been produced over the last 40 years in many denominations and colors.
The Machin head stamps were named after Arnold Machin, the artist.

There are many collectors who specialize in collecting all the types in this elegant series of stamps.
