It's not unusual to see stamps with one side perforated differently from the others. Having rough perfs doesn't usually detract from the value of the stamp; in fact, it sometimes enhances it. That said, some collectors simply don't like rough perfs and will always prefer a cleanly perfed copy when they can get one.
That's actually a good question Daniel, It does appear a lot on certain stamps, The GB wildings have this sort of tear on occaisions. I have always put it down to the user not bending the stamps at the perforations before tearing, and they have just separated at point of least resistance. I think it looks ugly. Not on your stamp though :) I'd take that any day.
Those little mountains you see in the dwell of the perforation hole also indicate the perforating pins needed sharpening they have not quite cut through the paper
