I finally received my standing order of Royal Wedding stamps today and noted that Canada Post's DETAILS magazine is incorrect in listing the two Souvenir Sheets (regular and Overprinted) as being lithographed in seven colours. In fact, the two souvenir sheets are printed in nine colour lithography.

The pane stamps are eight colour and the booklet and gutter products are correctly listed as seven colour lithography.

Here's, in top to bottom order, se-tenant pairs from the pane, the identical stamp souvenir sheets and the identical stamp booklet/gutter products, showing the stop lights as 8, 9 and 7 colours respectively.

Had I realized that the OFDC had booklet stamps, I would have created my own FDC with se-tenant pane stamps. The FDC stamp and coin limited quantity set has the se-tenant stamps from the pane.

Sorry to comment so much after the fact, but I had to chuckle at the topic thread, because I thought it was about THE real royal wedding in 1981.

Here is a cover postmarked from that date on July 29, 1981 (and a mint stamp).

I posted them myself when I was studying there. The only thing that I remember was that beer was half price all that day. Talk about royal.

Since there are so many new issues, I have only been collecting those stamps that are more traditional (gummed and perforated) rather than those that are more like stickers (peel and stick).
