Nice ones, Londonbus.
Always good to resurrect an old thread, isn't it?

While this isn't a flag stamp, it's a flag envelope. Thought it was pretty nice though. |

Ahoy, there Londonbus1. Is that a Pirate flag I see? That would be a fun topical, Pirates on stamps. In fact, I think I read something about that this past year. Hoist the Jolly Roger, there's treasure afoot! |

I like that cover too. It's really great. would make a lovely frontispiece to a Flag album. Josh...yes, the Jolly Roger it was. The flag of the British Navy Submarine, HMS Proteus during WWII. Do you know what the other Flags are? Londonbus1....testing,testing |

Here is a 1964 Military Frank stamp from France. It is pane or part pane from a booklet and has a 1969 date with an extra number '7'. Any ideas on this piece I would like to know. The next one is from...er...North Korea ! But I cannot find the surcharge issue anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Londonbus1....Question night ! |

In answer to the question about the flags:
The sheet depicts the following flags and ensigns:- White Ensign, Union Jack, Jolly Roger flown by H.M.S. Proteus (submarine) and the Flag of Chief of Defence Staff.
How did I do? |

Apologies if already posted, I am working through the post. To keep your wits about you, there is a flag on this stamp, but which country? (there is also a duck, a burro, and a steam train) |

Something more unusual, a flag on a 3c violet statue of liberty. The source of the punctures are unknown to me |

To rod222,
The source of the holes (resembles a flag on your stamp) was usually done by companies to prevent theft of their stock of postage.
Type "perfins" in the search box and several posts explaining the reason and source of the "holes" will come up.
