List updated June 27 - items 973a and 1011 removed.
For many years I've been compiling, for my own use only, scanned samples of all known Canadian varieties, excluding tagging errors, misperfs and proper shades. The purpose - I've created a binder with scanned "variety" examples of each stamp sorted by face value as an aid when examining "lots" of stamps. This makes it extremely easy to check any stamp I find for a "variety" simply by looking at the page with the corresponding face value.

Many are unlisted stamps that have appeared in articles or auctions over the years, but without a copyable image.

However, there are some that I've yet to find and would appreciate receiving a scanned image of the "variety" portion only of any of the following stamps. Its very difficult to find the variety if you don't know what it looks like, or where it appears on the stamp.

I do not work with or buy from dealers and have never joined a stamp club. I do not have any intention of ever supplying any of my work on this binder with anyone for any form of commercial purpose. I am prepared to share scans of any variety that I do have with others upon email request. (Please note that my ISP's email server was hacked last Tuesday [June 14th] and I am currently unable to receive or to send emails until the ISP fixes its problems.)

I created the list with proper horizontal spacing between entries, but the end result, as you can see, has eliminated the spacing.

Try putting [code ] . . . [ /code], the '#' icon, at the beginning and end of your list. It should keep some of the spacing if you are copying the data from a database or spreadsheet. (hopefully)

I have some 'errors' pics saved for study myself. Will look and see if I have any you need.

edit: no, I do not have any, sorry.

Thanks Puzzler for the advice and the reply.
I did use a spreadsheet, then tried to clean it up after I saw the preview.

This is not in your list nor any other list but may be of interest. Of all the examples I have or seen I have not noticed this (what I call a scar) on the forehead.

Thanks Nitrolures.

I was unaware of this Scott 17 variety and appreciate receiving it to add to my binder.

Heres another listed that you may not have 727iii $2 Kluane.
I am 99% sure I have the 3rd known copy in existence. Not to mention the color shift and shifting of silver text.

Yes, I do have it, but obviously from one of the other two stamps that you know of.

The unlisted variety identified in my post of 15 Feb 2011 could be of interest. The scanned picture shows a green line on one of the geese. At the time of issue, I did purchase 6 booklets having the same variety.

Thanks Major1044 - I did see it when it was posted and did add it to my binder. I've searched several post offices and, unfortunately, haven't been able to find one.

Nitrolures - F.Y.I. -> According to Saskatoon Stamp Centre, my 1690 Polar Bear reprint, position 11, "Bearded Bear" is a variety that they had not seen before, but not worth much as "it is not a constant error", which may be the same for your "forehead scar" variety.

My ISP has finally fixed its "hacked" email problem, so I can now send and receive, but I'm sure that others appreciate the use of this forum to show scanned examples of Canadian varieties.

I have numerous copies of the Polar bear I will have to check. I know from my printing past some of the annomolies can be one sheet or 100's just a mater of industry acceptance. Here is a major UV tagging issue on a pair of $5 moose. Again not a constant but an extreme example none the less.

Great site Gilles! Love the way the pis show variety blinking. Also previously mentioned awhile ago is the recent arctic hare coil stamps with red dot variety. This is evident in the imperf full sheets of 100 as well has been noted on some full coil rolls but was corrected as its not on all . This one should be listed in unitrade next issue as it is well noted in BNAPS study group of the lowe Martin Die cuts. Also on the topic of the lowe Martin Die cuts you will find numerous varieties in the cutting throughout all of the printings.
