Does anyone know where I could buy slip cases for mint sheet albums that are 12.25" H x 12" W? Thanks for any information.

Littleton has slip cases for their 3 ring coin albums. I couldn't find a size, but they may have blank binders also. Coinwizard has them, you could call for specific size or check on the littleton website if there is one. They are inexpensive for slipcases. Also there are videos on utube how to make your own , any size.

Thanks for the response. I am familiar with Littleton and will check it and the other sources. Thanks again.

I found them very expensive off the shelf in Australia,
but a private stamp dealer had some made for himself
and were around $14 IIRC

Very good watching too, thanks

Secondly, what is that crystal (presumably a 'desert gem') that forms part of your Avatar?

thanks

I'd much rather BUY my slipcases than devote my life to mastering bookmaking.

Also, I've had relationships that didn't last as long as that tutorial!

Good point Kirk! I filled my slipcase need many years ago with simple make your own, and then moved to using the USPS shipping boxes, which I could adjust to many sizes and for a while the USPS markings seem appropriate although rather utilitarian ugly. FED-EX also "provided" some sizes USPS didn't. The boxes can be spray painted or covered with vinyl or cloth. Then I got lucky at a library sale where they were selling some donated books with slipcases very cheap, so I bought them for the cases, some large enough for thin albums.

Alex, the crystal is Iolite from Africa. I am also an amateur faceter ( gem cutter) in another hobby. I felt attracted to the Iolite as it shows 3 different colors depending on which axis you look through, and I feel this applies to many situations in our lives :)

Oh, and I live in a desert :)

Thanks Jim, it seems to be a very interesting crystal with a very interesting history from awakening the 'third' eye to helping mariners finding their way home. I even learned a new term: pleochroism!

I live in a country that is mostly desert, which one is yours?

I live in the Salton basin about 12mi from Mexican Border ( Mexicali, MX) so it is part of the Sonoran desert. I know the navigator story, and I tried to use the polarizing effect, but I would not make a good viking :) If I cut an Iolite well, it looks like a blue sapphire. If I don't, it is plain ugly with the other colors dominant. If it wasn't so soft ( close to quartz ), it would make nice rings.

Mexicali-Calexico reminds me of a Harry Bosch novel I read (listened to) not long ago...something to do with drugs and fruit-fly sterilization with radiation...good story. But then I always enjoy Harry Bosch novels. :)
