Postojna Cave (Adelsberger Grotte) is a 24,120 m long karst cave system near Postojna, southwestern Slovenia. Postojna cave was visited by thousands of tourists, and therefore, the cave management sent a request to the Austrian trade ministry in Vienna for the opening of a post office in the cave. On August 15 1899, next to the Dance Hall, 500 meters from the entrance to the cave, the first underground post office in the world was opened.

Starting to wonder, are there any that haven't been posted yet?

Here is the Classic Edition - 1850 Stamps SS on a letter which
just arrived today.
Notice that on the Art? stamps the country's
name Österreich is replaced by Austria .
I read somewhere that Austria Post is using the Latin
name to make it's stamps more recognizable world wide
and easier for marketing.
IMO it would be better if Austria Post issued engraved stamps again, then
maybe there would be more interest in their stamps instead of these offset labels
which aren't even printed locally any more.

Just want to add that this AUSTRIA designation isn't
something entirely new but started as far as I can tell
back in 2003.

It was on the stamps of a souvenir sheet for the Rolling Stones.

I only have this single from the SS

The UEFA European Football Championship 2008 was held in Austria and Switzerland in June 2008. The souvenir sheet issued one year ahead of the event features the UEFA EURO 2008 mascot "Trix and Flix" as football players. The colors of red and white and the spiky hair symbolize the flags and mountains of the two host countries.
