The Shaheed Smarak (aka the Martyr's Memorial, Patna), established in 1947, is a life-size bronze statue of seven brave young men who sacrificed their lives in the Quit India Movement (August 1942) to hoist the national flag on the (now) Secretariat building. Here is an image of a stamp depicting the statue, printed by photogravure, and issued by India on October 1, 1967 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of this event, plus a photo of the statue, which was sculpted by Indian artist Devi Prasad Roy Chowdhury (1899-1975).
