Two illustrated covers (from a series of 5) that commemorate the centennary of the Reial Cub Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona in year 2000. Our city's second soccer team. Showing a 1943/44 match and Ricardo Zamora (Barcelona, 1901 - 1978) a most famous goal-keeper.

Here are images of the three airmail stamps in a set depicting soccer players in action, and issued by Gabon on October 25, 1974 to publicize the World Cup, held in Munich, Germany, Scott Nos. C153-C154. Note the significant differences in the style of the design and engraving work between the first stamp, which was designed and engraved by Jacques Gauthier, and of the other two, designed and engraved by Georges Bétemps.
