Just trying to make heads or tails of what I have.
I am trying to figure out if this world stuff is
worth trying to liquidate, or if they are just
worth trading material. It doesn't make any sense
to sell this sort of thing if the fees will eat up
the few cents it will bring. If that's the case, I
am better off just trading this stuff.

I have several lots from many countries. I'll post
some here to see what folks think.

First off is France and Belgium:

Whether they are keepers is up to you. As far as the French stamps, the two Ceres stamps at the bottom middle may have a bit a premium. Otherwise they are very common (many with the "Affranch" precancel.

Scott doesn't list the French precancels, but Yvert lists the overprint varieties and gives them a CV. If I recall correctly, most of them earn a bit of a premium over the base stamp. (But I don't know if anyone is buying them...I've picked up a few lots over time, and haven't been very diligent about sorting them.)

I believe the top row and first two of the second row are parcel post and railway stamps from Belgium 1923-40. Some nice cancels on them too.

What I am running into with these low value lots is that
they are not worth enough to sell due to postage, material
cost, and PayPal fee. I have done some auctions with my
excess US stuff, and if it doesn't go for at least 2 bux,
I am pretty much in the negative when it's over. Not that
I want to make money, I am having a blast going through this
stuff and spreading it among my fellow collectors here on SC...
It just doesn't make sense to put up a lot like this and run
negative. That is why I am wondering if this is a 20c lot or
a $2.00 lot. I'll probably just post it for trading material.
(at least this stuff)

I am going to post more here, and unless something screams
'2 dollars', as opposed to '2 cents', I will use for trades.
I am just counting on other members to give me a feel for it.

Thanks!
Dave

Here are some that were mentioned, a bit closer...

This one is marked '1893'...
The next is cancelled 1899...
As always, older doesn't mean better,
but I gravitate to classics naturally.

Anyone know what this selvage says?
I have a couple of these...

That is a dominical tab...Do Not Deliver on Sunday. If you didn't care, you could remove it, and the letter would be delivered on Sunday. There are a few threads here discussing these, probably found with a search for "dominical."

The 15 c Ceres-head (bigger numbers)is a 1872/75 (used 2005 CV- 3,60 eu). 25 c blue- 1871/73 (used 2005 CV 1,00 eu). The Belgian stamps seem common to me, but there is a member from Belgium here, maybe you should ask him. The 1893 (king Leopold) has a 0,30 eu CV (2005). The second (cancelled 1899) is an 1893 issue, 2005 CV is 0,20 eu. (both had `dominical tab`).

Am I reading the Spanish correctly?
Is this a Mexican air mail from sometime
around 1933?
