Hi to all

These are part of the collection of 2000 stamps that I bought, and there are quite a few George VI Ceylon.
The original owner must have been an avid collector as all the stamps have the perf sizes lightly pencil on the back as well as the catalogue numbers. However I do not know if they are Gibbons or Scott.
The numbers are left to right
386, 386B, 386C and 386D
Can anyone tell which catalogue
I will post others at the weekend
Regards
Horamakhet

I don't know the Scott's number, but I have these listed as SG386 in my collection.

. . .

Just what makes that little old ant
Think he’ll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can’t
Move a rubber tree plant

But he’s got high hopes, he’s got high hopes
He’s got high apple pie, in the sky hopes

. . .
From the Frank Sinatra 1959 song 'High Hopes'.

Hi triggersmob

I think it has to do with the perforations.
I noticed that the perfs for each different number is slightly different
Regards,

Gibbons lists the 2c as perf 11½x13 (SG 386, £2.25 used), 13½x13 (SG 386a, £1.75 used), 13½ (SG 386b, 10p used), 11x11½ (SG 386c, £1 used; it also lists an inverted watermark in this perf at £1000) and 12 (SG 386d, £3.50 used)

I had trouble with these stamps when I classified them as well and it will be more trouble when I change them over to SG.
