I'd envisage this thread to accomodate only Precancel oddments, not stamps. Exhibition Labels, clubs, broadsheets etc, catalogues : Any gossip is welcome to flesh out my album pages. What better way to begin, than the first US National Exhibition Gummed, appears diecut, Chicago 1928  |

Thanks Wt1, that's 2 years covered so far. nice one. From what I can gather, The Precancel Stamp Society (PSS) began in with conventions in 1922, with national exhibitions from 1928 So "convention" and "exhibition" labels should exist. From above post:  1935 convention & exhibition  1958 convention  |

I love these labels but, alas, I have none in my collection, so I have to be satisfied with examples that I can download from the internet. I did come across these two from 1954 and 1955, respectively:   Let me know if you want to see more. |

Here's an odd one:  According to the PSS Web Page, the 1940 PSS Convention was held in Houston, not Columbus. It wasn't until 1946 that the PSS Convention was in Columbus. Could this label be a printing error (i.e. 1940 vs. 1946)? Or more than likely, was there a last minute change of venue that occurred after the labels were printed? Anyone know for sure? |

For whatever it's worth, I was just browsing Ebay on 09/05/2011 and see they have examples of PSS Labels up for auction for 1938, 1941, 1950, 1953, 1957, 1964, 1967, 1969, 1970, 1971 and 1972. |

Unfortunately, the auctions closed on the ones you referred to. (Maybe they will come up again, as several had no bids attahced to them). Fortunately, I downloaded all of the images for the years I referred to above and if you're interested I can post them.
