I came across this picture of the ld Perkins, Bacon & Co. building and thought I would share it. This is the building where the "penney black" was printed. I believe that later it housed Harmer auctions too.

Thread Bumped. Dormant 8 years.

Would any members care to opine the building of Perkins Bacon please?
Would this image be of the same building as the one shown by Russ ?

Perkins Bacon (Heath) ? moved to 69 Fleet Street London,
was this after the Penny Black?

This one appears to have the Royal Arms (By Appointment) over the entrance.

They were initially at 29 Austin Friars and moved to 69 Fleet Street in 1819.

The original picture is of their printing works in Whitefriars Street and the Corinphila Auction picture is 69 Fleets Street.

This map shows the loctation of both buildings in 1888 (Fleets Street at top)

In 1904, they moved from 69 Fleet Street to Southwark Bridge Road.

Rod, Very unlikely. To start with, you are missing a floor on the building and the adjoining one. Then, the width of the building appears slightly off.

I hope Penney was not hurt in the process.

The bleeding obvious !
There I was, focusing on the windows.
Probably explains why I am not a detective.
