Here is an image of a stamp depicting a Vickers "Viscount" medium-range turboprop airliner in flight over a map of Austria, designed by A. Chmielewski, engraved by Herbert Toni Schimek, and issued by Austria on March 27, 1958 to publicize Austrian Airlines inaugural flight from Vienna to London, Scott No. 632, SG No. 595.

Here is an image of a semi-postal airmail stamp depicting an Allegory of "Flight" and a four-engine airplane flying high over the globe, designed by Belgian painter and illustrator René Bruynseraede (1909-1991), engraved by Leon Janssens, and issued by Belgium on September 7, 1946, Scott No. CB3, SG No. C418.

Here is an image of an engraved stamp depicting a biplane, a group of mailmen, and a map showing Thailand's first air mail route, issued by Thailand on December 10, 1969 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Thai air mail service, Scott No. 542.

165 years of Barcelona's 1802 First Human Balloon flight (by Vicente Lunardi). Covers flown from Barcelona to Madrid (Spain). There can be seen an idealised view of Barcelona's seashore, as it might have looked by then.

Here are images of two airmail stamps designed by Saint Pierre & Miquelon painter Michel Borotra (1939- ), engraved by Jacques Combet, and issued by SPM on June 30, 1987, Scott Nos. C61 & C62, plus photos of the airplanes depicted on the stamps.

Hawker Siddeley HS 748 Air Saint-Pierre medium-sized turboprop airliner, publicizing the first flight from Saint Pierre to Montreal, Canada.




Latécoère 522 (F-ARAP c/n 01) Air France Transatlantique "Ville de Saint-Pierre" flying boat, flown to Saint Pierre by the famous French aviator Henri Guillaumet (1902-1940) on August 3, 1939.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting a Sikorsky S-58 helicopter in flight, designed by Edouard Meert, engraved by Leon Janssens, and issued by Belgium on June 15, 1957 to commemorate the 100,000th passenger carried by Sabena Airlines helicopter service, Scott No. 505, plus a photo of a Sabena S-58. Sabena was the national airline of Belgium from 1923 to 2001.
