Well that brought back memories Nethryk. New Zealand National Airways Corporation had a fleet of these Fokker aircraft serving many of the provincial airports.

On July 30, 1914, Norwegian aviator, explorer and author Tryggve Herman Gran DSC, MC (1888-1980) became the first pilot to cross the North Sea. Taking off in his Blériot XI-2 monoplane, Ca Flotte, from Cruden Bay, Scotland, Gran landed 4 hours 10 minutes later at Jæren, near Stavanger, Norway, after a flight of 465 kilometres (289 mi.) Here is an image of a stamp depicting Gran's airplane and a map of his flight route, designed by Norwegian cartoonist and illustrator Harald Damsleth (1906-1971), printed by photogravure, and issued by Norway on July 30, 1944 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Gran's achievement, Scott No. 267, Facit No. 327, plus a photo of a Blériot XI monoplane in flight.

The Bleriot is a wonderful aircraft and that is a great photo of it Nethryk. I feature three pages on the Bleriot in my exhibition piece - this is one of them. I am in the process of revamping the display as I have a lot more material now. Allen

Traian Vuia (1872-1950) was a Romanian inventor and aviation pioneer who designed, built and tested a tractor configuration monoplane. In 1906, Vuia's first airborne test reportedly traveled about 12 metres (39 feet), and his best distance was 24 m (79 ft). Although unsuccessful in achieving sustained flight, Vuia's invention influenced Louis Blériot in designing monoplanes. Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Vuia and depicting early and modern aircraft, printed by photogravure, and issued by Romania on June 21, 1956 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Vuia's first flight, Scott No. 1101, plus a photo of Traian Vuia in his flying machine.

Have just completed a 16 page philatelic exhibition piece on the first 10 years of aviation. These are the first two pages. Not sure if this is the sort of thing that interests others - will post other pages if people would like to view.
