Hi guys Wonder why Canada Post would print coil stamps with per perforation and tear of stamps on the same sheet as per attachment.Could never understand the reasoning behind it. Robert

Hi Wert:
Those are interesting, but I'm afraid I have no idea what you're saying?
What is "per perforation"? |

Quote: Is that 12c parliament coil stamp designated Canada Scott#729?
Yes it is. Scott does not list score-line pairs or blocks. As far as I know, neither does Unitrade. |

If I understand correctly, the scorelines appear on all the 12c Parliament coils. I am open to correction.
If that is true, then Scott will not assign a minor catalog variety, as the stamps are all the same. As far as blocks or pairs, Scott no longer produces a specialized catalog for Canada.
What I found surprising was that I could not find a listing in the Unitrade for the pair/block. |

The 12c blue coil stamp #729 was available/sold in a roll of 100 stamps separated by vertical perforations. They were shipped/packaged in a box of 10 rolls and had a scoreline so that one roll or more could be snapped off of the original 10 rolls. If you bought 2 rolls intact you could unroll the pair carefully to get what was shown in the original pictue. In some cases the scoreline was very faint or if you were very very lucky was completely missing. |

Collectors of these conjoined coils look for blocks with no scoreline at all. A scoreline is a flaw in that sense, but finding a block with no scoreline can be a bit of a tough task.
Unitrade does list the occasional coil pair / block of 4 without a scoreline, such as 604vi (vertical pair, imperf. horizontally, with no trace of scoreline between) and 952ii (imperf. vertical block of 4, with no trace of scoreline).
