Hi: I was using this link for the issue.

I still do not understand exactly what you are looking for in the crown.
Do you have some examples?

Perf12
I'll use an example from the link you sent me in your previous reply; so the white area that is bordered by redline (my drawing) is the inverted crown which is at the top; usually called background or groundwork.

Sometimes it's easy to spot sometimes it isn't (cancel, overprint etc.)it needs a trained eye to recognize it which mine isn't so I asked for help from other members to have a look at it. As example I'm adding an image of 5kop stamp where the inverted crown isn't easy to spot.

Hi perf12,

If I understand iStamp's posts about this overprinted one kopek stamp:

First, he asked about the possibility of an inverted background on this stamp.

Then, in his next post, he answered his own question by pointing out that if there were an inverted background on this stamp it would appear as a blank area in the shape of a crown at the bottom of the stamp.

There's a nice example of such an inverted background in the first lot, #418, on the Cherrystone link that you gave:

https://www.cherrystoneauctions.com...20&pagenum=1 br /

This Cherrystone example is clearly a different stamp but the basic design is the same.

Ok understad now..The blank area in inverted backgrounds is always easy to spot if that is what your looking for "First" IMO.Some collectors
might not pay attention to that because they don't know such a thing may
exist.. Although that is more of a rare thing ;especially with a forum
like this where nobody let's anything by!!
