52 here! I wish I could retire and work on my stamp! Right now it looks like I will have to work until I drop dead. I will probably die sitting at my desk and two weeks later my corpse will still be at my desk with people still putting things for me to do next to me... |

76, for the last three months or so.
I expect to reach 150. So far, so good. |

This thread started a couple of years ago and was revived, I see. I am not sure I weighed in, but I am 59. Also, I saw something from Linn's recently that said the average age of their reader was 66 - yikes. |

I would think 40-50 would be the mean years, based on people in this age bracket have money to spend on their stamps that they didn't when they were young. I don't expect many young people frankly because I just don't see kids sending a lot of time on a stamp forum even it they collect stamps. Well the retired have nothing better to do plus the time. (just joking on the nothing to do)
My case started collecting stamps at age 10 through age 18. Then added a little around age 28-32. Really got back in and expanded it at age 40. I had no money in the younger years so I just really asked for stamps from anyone who got mail that I knew. Had a little extra money at 28 but kids soon took that and collection went back in the boxes. Age 40 was cool made more money and this meant more to spend on hobbies. |

I'm 49, but started when I was 13.. guess that doesn't matter. I'm working on getting my 10 year old son collecting, that'll bring the average down |
