I thought collectors were a small number of kids and a lot of geezers. I was surprised, really amazed, to find so many kids here. By kids I mean people 30 to mid-fifties. I just turned 76, and I feel it. And I'm afraid I must say I returned to stamps because there wasn't much else my body would let me do.

I'm shocked by results of this poll. I think it is skewed toward younger collectors comfortable with internet.

Suggests that the under 60 crowd of collectors are really engaged only through internet and social media.

Baby Boomers perhaps not so much. They still like their local stamp clubs and shows but that will come to an end over next 20 years.

If I didn't post before...I'm 43. It's neat to see so many young collectors participating on this forum, even if they are not otherwise engaged in "organized" philately. APS would definitely welcome new younger members - or commentary from younger collectors on what APS could do for them that would make the organization more valuable to them. (I'm the chair of the membership committee; feel free to drop me a line).

57, started at age 8 or 9. Collected until I was 22 before selling what I had to start my life out. Then collected from 25 to 28, sold again to help with a down payment for a house, then came back in at about 30 and have not had a significant hiatus since despite selling a very large KGVI collection in 2012.

Well, Partime, looks like we've both had a blast!
Your Boom is a great one, too!
But my gratitude to you is even greater for making me aware of that postmark topic. Didn't know it existed. Will be sending some of my other treasures to it.

We're all here to learn. Please post some examples, and keep the explosions to a minimum.
