Hi Nethryk, Your Pangolins are great; being able to grab a hold with its tail that way perhaps gave him his name pentadactyla. I wouldn't want to tangle with those claws! (1965)

Kris Rascher -Thanks. That's what I would call a "high five!"

Hi Nethryk, Could your Rodent be a hare with those long ears? He is such a great guy to clean up after litterbugs. I can't resist adding another Pangolin, this one busy with its long tongue.

It's Groundhog Day! Good excuse to say hello to an American Woodchuck (wuchak; Marmotta monax from the big wildlife set of 1987) and a European Murmeltier (Marmotta marmotta, from the new Swiss set of wildlife, 2014). The groundhog will surely go back to hibernation when he sees all that snow, the European cousin doesn't come out of hibernation anyway until there is a warm stone and plenty of greens to enjoy. (See also the marmots of February 2012 and September 2013 on this thread.)

Kris Rascher - Re: the custodian rodent being a rabbit- could be! You're guess is as good as mine.

PS: Punxsutawney Phil, the world-famous groundhog, saw his shadow yesterday, predicting six more weeks of winter.

Red giant flying squirrel (Petaurista petaurista), printed by lithography, and issued by Cambodia on May 4, 1993, Scott No. 1274. Note the misspelling of the scientific binomial name on the stamp (transposed "a" and "u")!
