Hi guys
Got this card in the mail today and noticed the cancel "Lest we forget"....Very nice cancel for Nov. 11th...
Also, why are we selling stamps with NO amount on it, or is that the way they are selling them now...???
And what is the letter "P" in the maple leaf signify...???

Forget why there is no amount, and what does the "P" stand for, here is why..."Arctic Hare leverets, ("P"-Domestic) as the babies are known"...Local amount mailing in Canada...But "HOW MUCH"....???

For Canadian stamps, the P = Permanent, meaning that the stamps are good for the domestic rate in Canada forever, regardless of any postage rate change. (In the US, we have "Forever" stamps, with the same meaning). The two countries just have to be different.

Here's the Canada Post link on the subject:

As it relates to the "Lest We Forget" slogan cancel, I found this piece from the Edmonton Stamp Club dated to 2009. Apparently these slogan cancels have been around for awhile in different forms during Canada's Remembrance Day:

English . . . . French
Permanent . . . Permanente
Forever . . . . Jamaais

So the 'P' is multi-lingual as well.

Well that's almost right.
Permanent in french is actually the same. Permanente (with a "e" at the end) is the the femine version of the word. As for forever, I think that "pour toujours" would be a better translation or maybe "à jamais". "Jamais" by itself means "never".

Thank you for the clarification!

I should have added the note that I had used Google translate to get the French words, not having much French myself.
