Not sure if these are British or Canadian. What I do know is this is Dapon, the Atlantine hero, shown on the 5 Novas stamp. Looks like the 1970's moustache has made a comeback on the outer planets. Also shows the Atlantine flag for flag topicals The larger value 30 Novas was the parcel rate for packages under 5 milons going to middle earth. |

Hi Rod222: I've not seen those space stamps before. They might have been part of the Dan Dare set published in the UK in 1953, of which some were reprinted in the US in 1958. They were probably the inspiration for the Interplanetary Postal Essays published in St Catharines, Ontario in 1962.
The Dr Seuss sheet is really nice. It brought back memories of my first reading books.
For the 1939 Royal visit stamp, I've seen this design in at least 5 different colours (red, brown, green, blue and rose). Don't known if there were other colours printed. Don't see them very often. |

Here's one that makes me scratch my head. My best guess is that it's some type of charity seal from Nova Scotia, maybe sold for addition to Christams Greetings around Christmas 1919. I've seen this in blue, red or green. Does anyone have further information on this one? |

update to the Nova Scotia moose stamp: Apparently it was part of a large series of about 128 different designs all printed in France by an unknown maker. These stamps are dated 1919 or 1920 (or both) and have patriotic themes, or Merry Christmas /Happy New Year slogans. Most stamps mention places in France, but some mention towns in Britain or other countries. They were catalogued by Bonneau and Granger in 1977, and there is an article ( http://www.stamp2.com/articles/cind...derella6.asp) on the series with an emphasis on the British labels. The article mentions that there are 3 different Canadian designs, and also 6 different Newfoundland designs. I think one of the other Canadian designs is this Saguenay River stamp: Now if only we could identify the other Canadian stamp, and the Newfoundland ones! |

My dealer gave me three of these for Christmas. I told him I didn't collect cinderellas but he insisted on giving them to me for Christmas. I asked him if he knew anything about it or if they were issued with the Blue Jays stamps but he said he didn't know. So they look like official Canada Post products but I have no information about them. Can you please help? I looked them up but the information online isn't very helpful...only found postings on kijiji and ebay. Image was taken from ebay (not photos of my own). |

Found these two in kiloware. Would it be better yo soak them off or leave them on the paper they are on? Canada Lung Association 2001 seals / poster stamps, snowman and butterflies. |

Hi Puzzler: For cinderellas I usually have a tendency to leave them on piece or on cover, especially if the cinderella stamp itself is undated, and the cancellation has a date on it. It's often very difficult to establish the period of use for such undated cinderellas. In your case, these are modern DATED charity labels, so leaving them on paper doesn't add much value. But it's always up to the collector to decide, and the way it can be displayed in the collection. To soak or not to soak...that is the question. |

Thank you. I had thought that perhaps there might be an established norm or something, but it seems just like postage stamps. Good. |

Thanks Puzzler: I've seen at least three different types of the Medic Alert stamps: with orange background (as shown), and also with yellow or green background. Probably issued in the 1970's. The bracelet is worn by people who have a medical condition or allergy, so that if something happens, medical personnel will be aware of the condition (eg. allergy to certain drugs or antibiotics, which is printed on the reverse of the bracelet tag).
