Hi guys
Was looking at my stamp and saw a distinctive colour shift.
Thought it was a good variety of that stamp.
As I investigated further, I have come to the conclusion that it is the "Norm" and not the exception...Look at the attachment below, and see if anyone can find a "normal" stamp in their collection without the colour shift.

Your color shift appears quite minor and based from what I see on the internet, it is probably within acceptable range as being of no additional value than that of any typical stamp from that issue.

Interestingly, ebay does carry listings for "major" color shifts (both left and right) which are said to not be listed in either Scott or Unitrade, but are listed in the Darnell Catalog as #443a with a premium value of around $30. However, I don't think your example would fall into that category, as the color shift on your example is not that severe.

Ya wt1....Wasn't really interested in the value, just noticed that there probably was more shifted stamps in people's collections than perfectly aligned colours....Just wondering if some one would look in their collection and get back to verify my understanding about this stamp.

I noticed this one appear to be on Rib paper. That may be more significant than the color shift as a variety. (Or is it due to the scan?)

Wert - here's a mint copy with a "real" shift from the Armstrong Book Store website that sold recently for $5.00. Note that it has the same paper as your stamp.

That is a real shift BlackJag....I dare anyone to look in their collection and come up with a well centered copy....I am beginning to think they (most) are all off center.

Here's one of mine from a LL corner block of 4 I purchased on the day of issue. It's fairly well centred.
