For anyone who has not yet looked at the 2011 Swiss Christmas Stamps, the images below speak for themselves. A beautiful stamp, with vivid colors and a generic holiday theme for those who may object to religious oriented stamps:

In fact, there's a trio of these stamps with different denominations:

For a self-adhesive stamp, these are some of the finest images I've seen on a Christmas issue.

That first one looks so cold. The smoke from the chimney is blowing away and the front door is open wide, welcoming, but also letting the wind blow right in and Brrrrr!

I have the windows open a crack now and it is 32F or 0C here now with 4-6 inches of snow on the way tomorrow (yay!) but then rain the remainder of the week so it will be all gone rather soon.

But they can't be that hardy and cold resistant in the Alps. Close the door so the stamps won't blow out or up the chimney!

Oh, the stamps are very nice. I saved the picture to share around here.

Interesting you should mention the "smoke from the chimney".

If one were to "flyspeck" the art used on this stamp, I suspect you'd have a hard time justifying the blowing chimney smoke, while there is seemingly no wind blowing the candles. Also, candles on or near an outdoor tree would not lend itself to snow covered branches now, would they?

We can all chalk it up to artistic license, I guess.

It's still a very pretty issue.

Ach, you are right WT1. I shouldn't have picked on the nice scenes. They are cheerful and have elements in each that tug the heart strings a bit. I like the little stone church myself.

That first (high value) stamp looks now to me like a manger or stable perhaps, or could be said to be such.

But they all are designed to be Christmassy and emotional.

This is by far the most beautiful 2011 Christmas issue (imo). I also like Alderney and Finland this year.
