Here is an image of a stamp depicting a 19th century steam locomotive and train at a station, engraved and printed by the United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and issued for use in the Canal Zone on January 28, 1955 to commemorate the centenary of the Panama Railroad, Scott No. 147.

Whew! Just chugged through 25 pages of trains.
I've always loved the Belgian train (parcel post) stamps, and was able to acquire some recently. So that, and this thread, have prompted me to start yet another little side collection of train stamps. Woo Woo!
Here's a little guy I just found. Mutilated perfs, so he's unsellable anyway. I'll give this little orphan a home in my round house. (did that sound wierd? )

Was talked into buying this set from the Isle of Man last weekend. Didn't take much talking.

Arrival of the first train in Monaco, postage due stamp designed and engraved by René Cottet, and issued by Monaco on June 1, 1960, Scott No. J59. Note that "N" in MONACO on the station's sign (detail) appears to have been mistakenly engraved in mirror-image!

I kept these two little guys just because I thought they looked neat. When I saw the train hiding on the left side, they immediately went into my little 'trains on stamps' collection.

Tobacco stamps of Ecuador overprinted to become postal tax.

Perhaps it was choo-chooing tobacco.
