Centenary of the Railway Arica to La Paz
May 29, 2013
The 440 km-long Arica – La Paz railway was inaugurated in May 1913 and is the shortest line from the Pacific Coast to Bolivia. The line reaches a height of 4257 meters above sea level at General Lagos. The line crosses the Chile - Bolivia border between the stations of Visviri and Charańa.

Private mail courier "Lokal-Verkehr" was founded in Lubeck on Feb. 22, 1888 by A. Salvador and closed in December of 1890. The high value from the set of 4 pictorials of 1888 features a train. It is Michel #4.
