Hi guys

W.L.M. King was one of our early Prime Ministers.
This stamp Scott # 304 shows him at his desk as Prime Minister, BUT, take a look trough his window and you will see the Parliament should't his office be IN the Parliament Buildings.

Poor guy has an office facing Parliament (ha,ha)

Don't forget your Canadian political history wert. There are other buildings around the main Parliament block which also have spires. There's the East and West Blocks and just to the west there's this building, which I am ashamed to say I can't identify..., the Confederation Building...

...but whose spire resembles the one on the stamp.

Hey Wert

I'm starting to think that either you're running out of stamps to sort or you have too much time on your hands.

Ok, I know this is probably beating a dead horse, but I can't help myself. And I'd just like to point out to all of you...I am not obsessed!
But, I was rummaging through a box of old scrap books I bought for my daughter last year at an auction (don't ask me why she wanted it, long story) when I found amongst the 60 - 70 year old newspaper clippings this photograph of our late great Prime Minister, W L Mackenzie King. Look familiar?

The photo was taken by Yusaf Karsh, and even more famous Canadian. Now, it may not be as clear from the scan, but the detail of the clipping has helped me pin point that spire out his window! And again, I'm not obsessed.

I think that that spire belongs to the East Block of our Parliament Buildings. While the West Block has towers that are similar, the East has that very distinguished lightening rod on top.

So there you have it. Mystery solved. Now I can put the box back in her closet, stop sneezing from the dust, and try to do something constructive today.
And I'm not obsessed.
