The stamp set depicts mail transportation, mail delivery, and youth philately.

Here are images of the two stamps in a set depicting, respectively, stylized carrier pigeons, and a handshake and a letter, designed by Tunisian artist Hatem El Mekki (1918-2003), printed by photogravure, and issued by Tunisia on October 9, 1974 to commemorate the centenary of the UPU, Scott Nos. 635 & 636, plus an image of a first day cover bearing these stamps with a UPU commemorative cachet designed by French artist and engraver Gilbert Aufschneider (1927- ).

From 1908 to 1964 The total examples existing are 93,448 stamps.

A UPU monument/symbol postmark from Lisbon, Portugal 16 November, 1978. It proclaims, "a courier in the evolution of the world".

Well, not exactly a stamp in the assumed meaning but a special postmark for a meeting I attended a number of years back. This was a joint meeting between UPU and CCITT, the UN body responsible for telecommunications standards. We were working on common standards for Bureaufax, where you take a document to your post office or telecoms provider, they fax it to the destination country and delivered via the post or telegram delivery system. I don't expect it is much used these days.

And, as you will see from the card, Canada Post put on a slap up meal for us all.

This 1986 issue of Bolivia commemorates the centenary of the country's entry into the UPU.

On June 19, 1984 the Federal Republic of Germany issued this souvenir sheet (Mi. Block 19) to commemorate the 19th World Postal Congress held in Hamburg.
