Greetings, I was wondering if anyone on the forum picked up the 2010 Israel Singles supplement and knows how White Ace handled the Jerusalem Booklet. I collect tabbed singles and for that supplement, they showed nothing - which for me was a huge relief. But I'm curious as to what they did on the 'singles' side.
Anyone?

I finally did get a response from Washington Press on my question about the 2010 Prestige Booklet. the answer was they did not include it at all in the 2010 pages. the reason being (and it actually made sense to me)is that all of the stamps had already been issued in either 2010 or previous years. and since they show only different examples, the booklet was just duplicates.
I'm also wondering how many folks actually even buy those pages as I see 224 reads of this post and not a single reply. I only assume that no one actually uses those pages. That seems amazing to me but perhaps speaks to the way White Ace shows Israel. don't know. Open to any additional comments

I do not know the White Ace pages but I do know that in any other country, the panes from the Jerusalem 2010 Prestige Booklet would have been listed. They are stunningly beautiful and in unique pane formats. I have not checked if the individual stamps are different from earlier printings but will endeavour to check in the coming days.

hey londonbus, I agree with you on the beauty. I was tempted to disassemble the booklet and mount it regardless. I checked most of the examples in there and they do in fact appear in previous years. I have no idea if they are identical as I did not look that closely but they are sure really close.
Not being at all familiar with other White Ace pages of other countries, are you saying that if this was a Ireland or France booklet, they would have shown it regardless of the duplication issue? or are you saying other album producers are showing it for Israel? I'm only a user of White Ace because I started there so many years ago that it would be both costly and time consuming to move everything to another album type.

I haven't seen any other albums either but these panes are listed because they are unique, much as they are in Gibbons for GB stamps. There are not many Prestige Booklets come out of Israel Post but what there have been have been some of the best. Are there pages for the panes from 2004 Clocktowers booklet? I mean all the panes ? I would explode the booklet [by the stitcholes] and display them on your own pages. Add something extra to the collection even if White Ace won't. |

Hey londonbus The 2004 Ottoman Clock tower booklet pane is indeed included in the Tabbed Singles supplement. To me that defies the logic they have come back and said as the reason they didn't include the panes from 2010 booklet.
Back in 2009 I had a heated conversation (mostly because they kept answering questions I was not asking). Here is what they said their logic was for the tabbed singles pages
Our policy for the Israel Tab Pages is to include examples of every face different Israel Issue. If it has tabs at the edge of the sheet we will show them; but if there are no tabs and we have to show the issue, it will appear without a tab. We show all souvenir sheets. We consider self-adhesive stamps to be a different issue from gummed stamps even if they have a similar image; we do not consider re-issues, paper varieties or perforation varieties to be different issues. As a rule, we do not show booklet stamps for which there are identical sheet stamps; we do show booklet stamps if the stamps are different.
Other than the 'tab' on the booklet pane is a solid color there is no difference but alas I filled the page.
Anyway, their policies seem a bit haphazard from year to year. It is something I will likely just live with because as I said the cost and time involved in moving my collection just isn't worth it.
