The minisheet features mastic tree (Pistacia lentiscus) which grows mainly on the Greek island of Chios. The dioecious evergreen shrub or small tree up to 4 m tall is cultivated for its aromatic resin.

The ancient oak, Quercus robur, known as the chimney oak because it is hollow, grows in the Reinhardswald in Hessen. It is honored on the stamp which was issued this week as part of the set of two for the series "Wilderness Germany".
