I am a new subscriber to Linn's Stamp News. How do I get access to 2011 US Catalog numbers? I can see 2010 Scott's Stamp Monthly issues, but nothing from 2011. If there was no Scott's Stamp Monthly published in 2011, where did the catalog updates get published?

When Scott Stamp Monthly was discontinued, Amos incorporated the contents into a special edition of Linn's Stamp News once a month. That issue is known as Linn's Stamp News Special Edition. Look for that special monthly issue when you browse through the archives for Linn's Stamp News, and you will find the new Scott catalog number assignments in those issues.
If you are interested only in US catalog numbers (and not prices or other info), you may find it easier/faster to see the US Stamp Program section, which usually appears in every issue of Linn's. That listing will also include any new Scott catalog number assignments. |

From your post, it sounded like you had an online subscription. In fact, I thought if you subscribed to the print edition, it included the online subscription.
Your online subscription should give you access to all available online archive LSN and SSM issues (it only goes back to ~2008). If you only have archives available since the start of your subscription, contact Linn's and ask them what is going on.
The Linn's Stamp News Special Edition is part of the Linn's Stamp News subscription, whether you have the print or online subscription. Once a month, the normal weekly LSN comes out with the "Special Edition" (it is not an additional issue, but a special issue of the normal LSN) that includes all the newest catalog listings. These were the listings that were part of the original SSM, but are now included in the LSN Special Edition.
If you click on the archives for LSN, you should see the special edition about once every month starting at near the end of 2010. DO NOT look for SSM, look under the LSN Special Edition under the archives for LSN (i.e., the LSN Special Edition is interleaved with the normal LSN archives).
I know, I know, you'd think they would have come up with a special archive for LSN Special Edition. But no, that would be too easy... (or something they will charge extra for in the future?). |

Well, what do you know. All of the sudden, I can see them. They WERE NOT there this afternoon. Perhaps the email I sent to Amos caused them to fix something. |

So, if the Legends of Hollywood sheet doesn't have a unique Scott catalog number compared to the individual stamp, why did the folks at Mystic consider it collectible, but not the Merchant Marine sheet? Dazed and confused over the Scott 2011 supplement... |
