I think this is Egypt (Scott #19 and #26) but the second image looks as if the numerals are inverted. It looks that way in the catalog, too. Does anyone know if this was intentional and why? It looks rather strange to me...but then I'm no expert on early Egyptian stamps:

The first stamp is from an earlier printing [penasson] first issued in January 1872, Typographed and many shades of Brown exist.

The right hand stamp is from a later printing [April 1875] on a new Bulaq Press where the side panels are transposed and inverted.

Both issues have two different perf varieties.

Hope this helps.
I might have a few examples left in the remains of my Egypt collection. I'll check later.

I checked my Egypt remainders and I don't have any examples left to show.

Those were the days.

I just came across one of the 19's with the inverted numbers, did a SCF search and found this thread with an answer. This forum is a treasure! So much information.

The current Gibbons catalogue has the transposed and inverted variety at only £3.75 - I thought they would've been more than that.
