Hi Everyone,

I like giveaways and have received some myself.
So here's another one...
I have 3 used 2011 USA Christmas sets available.

Set 1 (edited 2-2-12 to add 2nd scan for set 1)
Set 2 (edited 2-2-12 to add 2nd scan for set 2)
Set 3

They are from booklets, but these sets include a stamp from every position.

Just send a SASE and you may have a set. (if from other than the USA, stake your claim anyway and we'll work out the shipping.

1st to respond here on this thread gets their choice, next to respond get's their choice of what is left, third to respond gets the leftovers. Will follow up with private e-mails.

Open to anyone that has got their 50 posts in.

Kind Regards to All,
Dave N.

I would love either the second or third set Dave. I'll have the envelope in the post in the Am. What's the current US to Canada Rate again. I have some mint US in my bags of tricks.

Dianne

Hi Dianne,

Just checked the USPS rate calculator and it says 85c for 1 ounce to USA to Canada.

Okay, I'm picking up some vibes here.
About 60 views and only one taker so far.
Guess I'll have to work on adding a little to the pot.
Will add some more items to the sets when I get some spare time....

Any suggestions? - and don't get funny...

Hi All,

Finally getting a chance to add some additional stamps to the two remaining sets for this giveaway - Set 1 and Set 2.
Added a Christmas set (all booklet positions) from 2010 and also added PNC (Pate Number Coil) used singles (the flag stamp) from the current Liberty and Flag series. PNC examples from all 3 printers.

So maybe now, there will be some takers?

Kind Regards,

Dave N.

oldtriguy1960,

I am going out on a limb here.

I do appreciate your posting and your effort to share your stamps.
Please do not take the checking your thread and not responding personal. I do have all the stamps you are showing in my stock book and some more in a tin box. This probably true for most of us.

I do understand your frustation. Sometimes I feel the same way when I get no feedback.

Thanks again.

Fifia

Dave,

I would love to have the two covers you have up. I am interested in the cardio cancel mainly as I am in Pharmaceutical sales and actually promote several cardiology products. Let me know where to send the SASE.

Thanks,
BT

Hi BT,
If you are interested in just the cancels, how about I get you some other covers with the same kind of cardio cancel? Then these with the "Bell" die cuts can stay posted for folks interested int he die cut.

Can you explain the bell die cut shown in the covers you posted? Is it a legitimate variety or an error of some sort in the die cutting process? I've never seen it before and if no one else asks for it, I'd like at least the flag cover. Let me know if it's available and e-mail me your address and I'll be glad to send a SASE for it.

Thanks.

Hi Wt1,

I don't believe it (the "Bell") is a recognized variety, but it is mentioned at some of the Plate Number Coil sites and obviously does exist. I believe it has something to do with where the coils of stamps is placed in relation to some sort of cutting mechanism. If the coil is too low in relation to the cutter, the top edge of the stamp will be higher up on the die cuts than intended resulting in the "bell" at the top. Though most "bells" I've seen, either top or bottom, are not as extreme as the flag one shown. So I would have to say they are more along the lines of an error or freak. I think there are some websites out there that explain it much better. It seems to me that many of the coil stamps printed by Avery are liable to have the bell or thimble die cut (errors).

The Flag "Bell" on cover is still available. I'll edit the pic to show reserved for you.

Will send you a PM with address.

Kind Regards,

Dave N.

Thanks!

Just looked up the Bell variety on the PNC3 website who explains it like this:

Quote:
A die cut feature resulting from the mis-alignment of the die cut mat with respect to the stamp image on the printed web. On vertically die cut coils, the shape of the die used to separate individual stamps has the appearance of either an upright or inverted bell if there is a misalignment between adjacent rows of VP die configuration. On horizontally die cut coils, the bell lies on its side with the lip of the bell pointing up or down.

I never realized these varieties existed until I saw examples of them. Same with "Cobra" and "Knoll" varieties also found on several modern US stamps, too.

I know they are all claimed... But if you have more of the holiday baubles (like set 2) then I would claim them.
